ROFI CAMEROON takes its “No Addiction Concert” to Banga-Pongo in Douala 3

One of the most innovative and impactful strategies of ROFI Cameroon is the use of music as a tool for social intervention, grassroots sensitization campaigns, conducted directly within local communities.

This year 2026, the Mbanga-Pongo locality, known primarily as the crash site of Kenya Airways Flight 507 on May 5, 2007, will be hosting the ROFI Cameroon Music concert outreach strategy.The podium will be handed to youths of the community.The event will commemorate the international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
Rising Drug abuse among youths
Urban areas such as Douala, particularly localities like Mbanga-Pongo, have experienced:
- Increasing exposure to illicit drugs and alcohol
- Growing unemployment and underemployment among youths
- Limited access to mental heath and rehabilitation services
Substances commonly abused include:
- Marijuana
- Alcohol
- Locally available psychoactive mixtures
